Gopal' another name of Krishna. Gopal means one who plays with the Cowherds. Lord Krishna is regarded as the eighth incarnation or avatar of Lord Vishnu. Krishna took birth in the Dwaparyuga, according to the Hindu Mythology. God Krishna is the personification of love and ecstasy that vanishes all pain and sin. Sri Krishna is often depicted as a cowherd's boy, who loves curd and butter. Lord Krishna is also associated with the Raas-Leela, in which he is always surrounded by the Gopis (Young cowherd girls). This wooden painting is crafted with skillfully arranged small wooden blocks of three different colors to form a lovely image. Materials Used- Three kinds of wood are used- Jack fruit wood (Yellow), Margosa (Red) and a kind of hairy sour apple (White) Base is made of 'Macanite Board' Maintenance & Care- It can be easily cleaned using a soft brush. Please do not use water to clean it.
