Makhan Chor : Pattachitra Paintings

US$9 / Rs. 596
( In Stock)

Product Details

The stories of Krishna's childhood and youth tell how he became a cow herder, his mischievous pranks as Makhan Chor (butter thief), his foiling of attempts to take his life, and his role as a protector of the people of Vrindavan. In this beautiful painting lord Krishna is depicted as makhan chor who is busy stealing the white butter from the matkis standing on his friends back & Yashodha standing back of the lord is ready to beat him with a stick. It's a colorful ''Pattachitra" painting that means two cotton clothes are pasted by the tamarind paste & later it was painted by the natural stone color. Due to the use of natural stone color the images are even seen in the darkness. This painting is a traditional painting but we should try to find the real fine art of Orissa Craftsman.
